Bec and Dan met through racing at the Oceania Championships in Nelson, NZ. They became friends at the 2008 World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy where Dan took Bec under his wing and helped her to find her way. In 2009 they officially became a couple and began chasing their common dream together with their first Euro trip in 2010.
For the next four seasons, Bec and Dan self-funded their way around Europe and North America following the World Cup series and in 2012 chasing selection for the London Olympic Games. They have faced huge highs and lows together, which has given them an incredibly strong bond. Bec and Dan are both as passionate about their own dreams and successes, as they are each others. This makes the heartache and disappointment even tougher on the couple, but the happiness and satisfaction all the more worthwhile!
As long as Bec and Dan have been together, they have been joined at the hip! While both have earned their stripes individually as successful athletes, they were both fortunate to sign their first professional contract for the 2013 season together with Trek Factory Racing. The support of a professional team and each other saw them both step up to a new level of racing. At the first World Cup of the 2013 season, Bec took her first Under 23 World Cup win! Not to be outdone, Dan came out to take the win the next day in horrendous conditions and a day that will go down in history!

Bec and Dan spent four years with Trek Factory Racing until their contracts were not renewed for the 2017 season. This came as a huge shock and disappointment to both, but their passion and love of racing was far more important than earning salaries and so they were back to self funded privateers in 2017.
For the 2018 season Bec and Dan are again a part of a UCI Elite Team with Spanish Team Primaflor Mondraker Rotor and look forward to a successful and supported 2018 season!
Outside of the racing scene Bec and Dan love to spend as much time with their family and friends as possible – for them it’s the simple things – summer barbeques, Friends Friday, and watching their new nieces and nephews growing up! They love to get outdoors squeezing in a few hikes and adventures during the off season.
